Before we get started please note this is NOT the LSWA (Louisiana Sportswriters Association) all state team but solely Louisiana Girls Rankings thoughts. Again with our platform we are only trying to help keep the conversation going about OUR girls so this is just another way of doing that. Each day for the next ten days we will release an all state team for one of the divisions. The Division IV Non Select was loaded with great storylines as this division was one where multiple teams had an opportunity to win a state championship. Oakdale blessed us with one of the best Cinderella stories we've seen in some time as the doubke digit seed advanced to the state championship on a buzzer beater three point shot before winning it all! The all state selections for Division IV Select classification is listed below:
Division IV Non Select
MVP
Timberlyn Washington - Lakeview - Sophmore
Washington averaged 21 points and 6 assist as she helped lead Lakeview to the state championship when most everyone wrote this team off after a big piece of the puzzle moved out out state. Washington and her teammates fought through the adversity early as they had to find new ways to win! Behind the leadership and growth of Washington this Lady Gators team was playing at its peak come playoff time. Despite Washington's early foul trouble in the state championship game she had this Lakeview squad not giving up & fighting down to the wire nearly coming away with the championship. What Washington meant to this Lakeview team has landed her one first team all state and the LGR MVP for Division IV Non Select.

Coach of the Year: Renotta Edwards / Oakdale High School
- Coach Renotta Edwards had not only the support from her loyal fans from the "O" but she also earned the respect and support from so many across the state throughout her post game press conferences as well as those that have known her journey along the way as a basketball player and coach. She resembled someone coming from a small town and MAKING it as she's performed on the biggest stage both now as a player and a coach. We....the game of girls basketball are so fortunate to have leaders like Coach Edwards that OUR girls can look up! She's now making a difference giving back to the game that has taught her so much! Winning a state championship for the first time in program history gave her a stage to share her message so many people enjoyed. This years LGR Coach of the year award goes to Coach Renotta Edwards. Congratulations coach and keep making a difference.
