After a long awaited wait and long over due we are finally set to update the rankings! I first off want to apologize for the length of time it has taken and thank everyone for understanding. Although last year was a difficult year for me personally it is our goal to update the rankings 3-4 times per year to again keep the conversation going about OUR girls and we look forward to doing that in the future! We appreciate all the help from everyone around the state like I always say it truly takes a village.
With the first evaluation period right around the corner and a last chance look at all the prospects this weekend at our tournament The Challenge we look forward to releasing the updated rankings next week! Lets get the conversation started about OUR girls. Let us know who we missed by commenting on all social media platforms. Keep it positive and remember the only purpose of these rankings is to get people talking about Louisiana girls basketball and to give OUR girls a platform…..so with out further ado let the conversation begin!
2024 Class Top 5
1) - Jada Richard - Lafayette Christian Academy
Club Team - Louisiana United - Clay / LSU Commitment
No change to the top spot here as the star of girls high school basketball this year in the state will rest on the shoulders of recent LSU commitment Jada Richard. Like we said last year with Williams you don't see prospects like this come around very often so if you call yourself a basketball fan or have any young hooper considering basketball make sure you take the trip down to watch a few LCA games! No better way for a young hooper to fall in love with the game than watching one of the greats play the game with passion Jada does and score the ball at such a high level. Don’t be surprised when she has a huge summer and lands herself in the top 100 in the ESPNW rankings.
2) - Terren Coffil - Chalmette
Club Team - Lake City Pride
After electing to move out of the state to play basketball at a prep school in Arizona Coffil has since returned back to the state where she will look to play club ball as well as her senior year in high school. Terren was playing some of the best basketball last summer before she left gaining interest from several mid major plus programs taking unofficial visits as well as interest from higher. She certainly has what it takes to play at that high level of college basketball and this summer will be a big one for her. All college coaches in the region should definitely have her schedule circled to check out!
3) - Chloe Larry - Parkway
Club Team - Arkansas Mavs
In the case of Jordan and Pippen it's never easy to play the role of Pippen as Larry has done in high school over the past few years along side McDonald's All American Mikayla Williams. Chloe has continued to step up to the challenge and has earned the respect of coaches across the state as several teams decided to run a box and one on Larry instead of Williams in an effort to slow down the powerhouse of Parkway. Credit to where credit is due as Chloe Larry's game continues to improve and she jumps into our top 5 rankings for the 2024 class. College coaches make sure to give this young lady a look this summer as we've seen a huge jump in her game and expect another as she looks to keep Parkway back in the state championship hunt!
4) - Whitney Hart - Liberty
Club Team - Louisiana United - OJ
Whitney Hart's game made a leap forward this year as her rebound and go ability to start the fast break really was showcased. Coach Wilson of Liberty High School really trusted Hart and her ability to bring some versatility to their team this year. Her face up game and 15ft off the bounce has improved as well as overall consistency of her skill set on offense. The potential is certainly there with the 6'2 forward and with another jump in her game this year coming college coaches will be begging her for an opportunity so coaches make sure you get in early!
5) - Eve Alexander - Lafayette Christian Academy
Club Team - Louisiana United - Clay
Eve Alexander is still one of the most underrated prospects in the 2024 class! I would take Eve at the Division I level right now let alone as her game continues to stretch away from the basketball. (Her last bucket in the 2023 season was a 3pt in the state championship game.) When I watched Eve lock down and out play a top 5 post player in the 2023 ESPN top 100 rankings signed to a power five school I didn't need to see anything else. She has checked every box needed and deserves an opportunity to compete at the division I level. Mark my words what ever level she lands at in college she will be a multiple year starter at that school! College coaches, send your post coach to check her out this summer you won't be disappointed!
2025 Class Top 5
1) - Cherie Spencer - Northshore
Club Team - LA Soul Platinum
Cherie Spencer makes the biggest jump in the 2025 class out of anyone jumping from 7th all the way to 1st in the class! She is currently sitting with zero college offers but after the April evaluation in a couple of weeks this won't be the case. You can tell she's been in the gym and has consistently worked on her game and offensive skill set! She started high school playing out of position in the post and we told everyone she's a guard well she has taken that to another level as she's now a true combo guard or even point guard! Big strong physical guard that can create her shot on her on one on one. College coaches better take the time to get eyes on this young lady this April because I promise you her recruitment is about to blow up and you don't want to be late to the party!
2) - Shaila Forman - Southern Lab
Club Team - Cy Fair Elite
Sheila Forman lead her team back to a state championship where they ultimately came up short but this team despite being a smaller classification team competed against all the top teams in the state and we saw her game grow because of that! The combo guard has switched summer teams to Cy Fair Elite in Texas where she will have an opportunity to showcase her skills in front of some new eyes. Her jump shot and overall scoring is getting more and more consistent as she's makes even the difficult shots look easy at times. Her recruitment has started to heat up as she holds several division I offers so college coaches looking for a combo guard that can put the basketball in the hoop need to check out Forman this summer!
3) - Ramiah Augurson - Wossman
Club Team - Arkansas Mavs
At 6'1 with a long frame Ramiah Augurson brings a guard skillset to the forward position and several project her to be a guard/wing at the next level. She brings a versatility to any team that allows her to play multiple positions on offense as well as defend all five positions on the court on defense. It'll be a big summer for Augurson as she'll have to truly move her game out to the wing or start to focus on playing the four at the next level which brings two completely different types of skillsets. We know all college coaches are looking for size, length and ball skills and you can look no further as Ramiah Augurson is a natural!
4) - Kira Johnson - Lafayette
Club Team - Domino's
Another huge stock riser in the 2025 classification is Lafayette's point guard Kira Johnson as she jumps from number eleven to inside the top 5 of her class. When explaining her skillset to college coaches I try to explain she can run the point position in two completely different styles of basketball which is very uncommon. For High School she is allowed to do more isolation and creating one on one and she does this at a very high level excelling at it. For Club ball she is asked to be more of a true point guard and run the offense and execute the offense and she does this at a very high level excelling at it. To have both those completely different types of game at the point guard position for a sophomore in high school is very impressive and that's why she has jumped so high in our rankings!
5) - Arionna Patterson- Walker
Club Team - Arkansas Mavs
Arionna Patterson has played with a stacked high school team and always has played with a very talented club team in the summer. Because of these two sometimes people don't realized just how good she truly is just because she isn't putting up the numbers some of the others in this class are putting up does not mean she not capable if roles were reversed. I personally think playing on these two teams will help her transition into the college game that much easier. College coaches make sure you don't forget about the super talented 2025 at Walker High School and check her out this summer! Last August she was playing with some of the best in her class across the region and was still standing out.
2026 Class Top 5
1) - Chikae Desdunes - John Curtis
Club Team - Cy Fair Elite
Chikae Desdunes has been a name in the New Orleans region that many have known for years and I think it's clear her name is continue to grow outside of this region along with her game! She makes the game look easy almost as if she's not playing hard but that's more of a complement to her overall skill set as she doesn't allow anyone to speed her up and plays at her own pace. Lets just say Louisiana girls basketball is still in good hands with Chikae finishing up her Freshmen year in high school we still have a lot of great basketball ahead of her!
2) - Kyndal Graham - Huntington
Club Team - Texas U
Kyndal Graham could of arguably had the best high school season out of anyone in the state as the guard transferred into Huntington and hit the ground running doing everything Coach Shyne and his staff asked of her and more! The undersized guard had to improve one part of her game and that was shooting the 3pt shot off the bounce and she has taken that to an entirely different level! Not only can she knock down the catch and shoot 3pt she can create off the bounce by attacking or hit the deep 3pt off the bounce at a high level. This has really opened up her game for herself and her teammates as her vision has always been spectacular! It's no surprise after this high school season she has started picking up division I offers and we're expecting another big summer out of the crowd favorite Kyndal Graham!
3) - Kaliyah Samuels - Lafayette Christian
Club Team - Louisiana United
Kaliyah Samuels has played one year of high school basketball and has a state championship at LCA as she was a pivotal player on that state championship run. She'll be in the starting lineup for arguably the top team in the state next year as only a sophomore. Her guard like skills at the forward position certainly make her a mismatch on the inside as well as the perimeter. Samuels is loaded with potential as she continues to add to her game polishing her guard skills and her game gets further from the basket the sky is the limit for her game!
4) - Asia Patin - Southern Lab
Club Team - Louisiana United
The term used is "glue guy" and at the next level every team needs a player that is not afraid of doing the dirty work especially on the defensive side of the basketball. Asia Patin is a force on the defensive end as she has no problem defending the other teams best player night in night out from the time they get off the bus until the game is over you can bank on Patin locking up! She's been so good defensively even having success playing up several classifications in club basketball that her offensive game is under the radar. Her offensive skill set is steady improving as she finishes through contact and can create off the bounce. College coaches make sure to take a look at this young lady this summer if you need to add some grit and toughness to your roster!
5) - Aaliyah Gaddis - Family Christian
Club Team - Livingston Ladies Basketball Club
Aaliyah Gaddis is a natural on the open court as the forward moves extremely well rim to rim which checks one of the biggest boxes from the forward position. She's got great hands and her ball handling is continuing to improve. Aaliyah is another one with a ton of potential in this class and she should certainly be on the radar of college coaches as her ball skills start to catch up to her athleticism watch out! Playing in a smaller classification she has the opportunity to do a lot more than just post up on the block so I'm excited to see her next step this summer as her game continues to improve and stretch further from the inside her versatility will be even more of a mismatch for her opponents!
2027 Class Top 5

2) DeAsia Alexander - Arcadia / Team Up
3) Brooklyn Smith - High School TBD / Baton Rouge Lady Red Claws
4) Shanna Simien - J.S. Clark / Lake City Pride
5) Kori Wesley - White Castle / Louisiana United
